Welcome to the Rooseum Web Site. My name is Bo Nilsson, and I am the director of the Rooseum. The Rooseum is a center for contemporary art located in Malmö, in the south of Sweden. However, the Rooseum is not just of local concern. Our exhibitions attract museum goers not only from the whole of Sweden, but also from large parts of Denmark and northern Germany. We are not content with this, as we are trying to reach an audience from all over the world with our exhibitions. We are now with great curiosity following the rapid development on the Internet. We hope that this new way of communicating will help us reach a wider, global audience, and also entice those yet uninitiated in contemporary art. At the same time, one has to keep in mind that a presentation of an exhibition on the Internet, can never be placed on an equal footing with a live confrontation with the actual art work. Perhaps these presentations will be inviting and stimulate further studies of an exhibition, or, even better, they will instigate a visit to the Rooseum to experience the exhibition live. Our Web Site consists of two main parts. Firstly, it will provide access to our exhibitions, which will give a presentation as rich as possible with pictures and texts. Here you will also find the variety of arrangements often accompanying the exhibitions. The second part of our Web Site is a presentation of the Rooseum; our collection - the Fredrik Roos Nordic Collection, the building and its history. The Web Site are not meant to be a one-way communication on Rooseum's part. We are very happy and honoured by your visit, and hope that you will respond in order to help us make our Web Site as good as possible. Please write in our Guestbook! On behalf of our organisation, I wish to thank you for your visit, which I hope you have enjoyed. I hope you will return to our Web Site soon again.
