The fourth selection from the Fredrik Roos Nordic Collection, entitled Four Elements, will be on view during the summer. The four elements - earth, air, fire and water - may be said to correspond to the rich variety of the collection.

The exhibition comprises 50-60 works by some twenty artists, most of whom born in the fifties. The works - paintings, sculptures, drawings, and photographs - were all produced during the dynamic years 1982-1990. The shimmering paintings of the stark Icelandic landscape by Georg Gudni are among them, as are Leena Luostarinen's expressive and mythically sphinx-like cats and Leonard Forslund's painted reliefs, reminiscent of shadow-play. The sculptures range from Henrik B Andersen's severe bronze, inspired both by Danish classicism and the postmodern eighties, to Kari Cavén's geometric sculpture of wooden planks taken from an old dance floor, and an amorphous sculpture in plypha by Anders A. Those who have seen earlier selections from the collection will probably recognize some of the works, however now in a new context together with several works never previously exhibited.
