Works from the Fredrik Roos Nordic Collection

July 12 - September 21, 1997.
Curator: Bo Nilsson

In our summer exhibition, titled Proportion - a selection from the Fredrik Roos Nordic Collection, we show works by ten Swedish artists who were among the most noted during the -80. By presenting all the works Fredrik Roos collected by these artists, the collectors personal selection principles and preferences will be presented. In the collection, there is an evident disproportion concerning the numbers of works by each artist. This is illustrated in Proportion by the fact that Dan Wolgers is represented only by two works, and Max Book by as many as 46 paintings and prints. This is, indeed, the two extremes of the collection. This poses questions about selection principles and proportions in collections, and, also about the preferences during that period. The exhibition includes 119 works from the years 1980-1991, which for the most part are paintings, but also prints and sculptures.

Participating artists: Håkan Rehnberg, Eva Löfdahl, Max Book, Rolf Hanson, Dan Wolgers, Johan Scott, Lars Nilsson, Stig Sjölund, Anders Widoff and Ernst Billgren.
